We are looking for partners to our home and path

The absorption process on Kibbutz Lotan

In order to fulfill our many goals, we need more partners to our community and vision. Absorption of new potential members adds energy and vibrancy to Lotan. We are actively absorbing new members, especially from the ages of 24-40. We are particularly interested in absorbing singles and couples.

How can you join?

If you are interested in absorption in Lotan, please contact our "merakez klita" (the member responsible for absorption of new people) at:

Stages of Absorption The First Stage: “Bodek/et Klita”

"Bodek Klita" literally means "checking absorption". The person responsible for absorption interviews the candidate and gives him/her a broad description of Lotan. After a weekend visit or two, if both sides are still interested, the candidate comes to the kibbutz for a month.

After a period of 3 to 6 months, the absorption committee invites the candidate to the General Meeting. Here s/he is given the opportunity to explain more about his/herself, his/her impressions, hopes and dreams. Couples can come to the General Meeting together. The members ask questions and may give the candidate feedback. A discussion then follows, first with the candidate and then without him/her. We pride ourselves on the ability to try and be as open as possible with candidates. This is the first of two opportunities the members have to vote on the candidate.

Throughout this first period, potential members in close contact with members of the absorption committee who provide advice and guidance and are continually requesting feedback from others on the kibbutz.
