Volunteering, Internships and Eco-Experience Opportunities on Kibbutz Lotan

Volunteers: How to

Volunteers at Lotan work in any of the kibbutz branches and services that need help. Generally this means kitchen, tourism, yard (Chatzer).

Kibbutz Lotan welcomes as volunteers healthy young people for any amount of time between 3-6 months. Volunteers are mostly single, average age 18-25, and able to do physical work as required. Volunteers receive room, board (3 meals a day in the kibbutz dining room) and a small stipend.

Internships at the Lotan Center for Creative Ecology

Interns are folk with or developing professional skills such as natural building, website administration, social networking, gardening and informal education. Six month internships are administered in conjunction with the Arava Institute:

• Internship in Alternative Building at Lotan Center for Creative Ecology
• Internship in Organic Gardening at Lotan Center for Creative Ecology
• Internship in Social Media and PR at Lotan Center for Creative Ecology
• Internship in Experiential Environmental Education at Lotan Center for Creative Ecology

Summer Eco-Experience

We realize that many people want to experience our unique ecological education programs but don't have several months available for their studies.

15 June 2013 to 15 August 2013
Two week hands-on opportunity for folk interested in the design, building and running of sustainable communities that link together ecological, social, economical and spiritual aspects into a unified whole. Work hours are 5:30 -14:00 (Sunday -Thursday) with a break for breakfast in the middle. Some hours will be spent working closely with a supervisor, other times the participants will be working in a group on their own. Between four to eight hours of educational activities will take place each week.
EcoExperience participants pay for their room and board while they stay with us, $25 per day. The minimum length for the program is two weeks.
