Where is Kibbutz Lotan and how to get there
By BusThere are regular busses (nearly every hour of the day) from Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Beer Sheva. Kibbutz Lotan is about 300 kilometers away from either Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem. The bus ride lasts about 4 hours from Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, and 2 1/2 hours from Beer Sheva. There are usually two breaks along the way for refreshments and toilets. The bus ride is smoking free and cost about 60 shekels (11 dollars). when booking your ticket to Lotan, ask to alight the bus at the Ketura Junction (Zomet Ketura). Do not confuse the Ketura Junction with Kibbutz Ketura bus stop. By CarIf you travel by car, we'd recommend an alternative road (#40) via the Ramon Crater. The circuit is one of Israel's nicest, offering dramatic desert sceneries. The road is new and comfortable. Don't forget to equip yourselves with plenty of water and fill up your tank in Mitzpe Ramon Gas Station (the last before Eilat if I'm not mistaken). Finally, watch for wildlife along the road By Flight. One can fly to Eilat from Tel Aviv and then take a bus or taxi to Lotan. There are two airline companies flying to Eilat: Arkia and Isra-air. Needless to say, competition has made flights to Eilat more affordable. Check for specials! When booking your flight from outside Israel, check for connecting flights to Eilat from Ben Gurion Airport (often at reduced rates when linked to an international ticket). Check with our tourist office regarding further options from Eilat (Office: 972 8 6356935) Require more info? don't hesitate to contact us at: info@birdingisrael.com |
