Shiatsu

INTERACT

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu: Literally means "finger pressure. This ancient Japanese technique takes place, typically on a futon with the client wearing loose fitting clothes (occasionally it can be practiced on a massage table or chair).

Shiatsu includes stretches, rotating joints and sensitive pressing along tsubo, and pressure points that follow energetic trails through the body. Shiatsu is a relaxing and enjoyable treatment for the healthy individual wanting to lie back and enjoy reconnecting to his or her own body.

Shiatsu diagnosis is done through the hara, located in the stomach area. From reading this, the skilled practitioner can plan a programme to help the client return to balance, the key to health.

Introduction to Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a unique form of touch through massage and stretching. This two-hour program is ideal for couples (pairs for working with each other) desiring to learn the basic techniques of this ancient massage method. Shiatsu is both a form of physical manipulation and a means towards the growth of body, mind and spirit, combining intuition, breathing, and body positions. Shiatsu technique involves stretching, leverage and leaning your weight into various parts of the recipient's body encouraging greater harmony of energy, circulation, flexibility and postural integrity.

Studying Shiatsu allows our mind, body and spirit to come into greater harmony so that we can look, feel and be healthier. It works through the healing process of non-intrusive touch. Participants learn step by step techniques for treatment of the back and legs through awareness of breathing and body tension and relaxation.

We are happy to customise programs from two-hour to two-day workshop upon request. Program limited to 6 couples (12 participants), 15 couples (30 participants) maximum. Price NIS 400 up to 6 couples (12 participants).

Advanced Techniques of Touch (Tansu), which combine the ancient massage techniques of Tantra and Shiatsu, is a two-hour program for couples explores the art of "Tansu". Where Shiatsu is the technique of massage used for connecting the mind and body through touch, Tantra is the process of total surrender, letting go of mental, emotional and cultural conditioning, so that energy can flow without effort. Combining the two techniques offers a unique spiritual context and harmony to the massage process. The participant will learn how to work with their partner to develop body awareness through breathing and meditation, giving a sense of security. They will learn how to cradle and support the body to allow total relaxation for working the muscles intensely through stretching and working the pressure points.

Minimum of 4 couples (8 participants), maximum 15 couples (30 participants). Price NIS 450 up to 5 couples (10 participants).
